Alisa Bair
Alisa Bair holds music education and music therapy undergraduate degrees from East Carolina University, as well as an M.F.A. from the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program at New York University. She has over 25 years’ experience directing children’s, youth and adult choirs in a variety of denominational settings, and most recently served as Minister of Worship and the Arts at First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, Pennsylvania (2006-2013).
She is represented in the catalogs of Columbia Pictures, CPP/Belwin, Hope Publishing, Heritage Press and Choristers Guild and has received several Editors’ Choice designations from J. W. Pepper. She is the librettist for the extended work, The Lost Son, a commission from the Soli Deo Gloria Music Foundation with composer Neal Harnly, which enjoyed a 2010 world premiere with the Indianapolis Children’s Choir.
Her full-length musical, Hello Sky, about the life of artist Georgia O’Keeffe, and for which she is the composer and co-bookwriter/lyricist in collaboration with Dina Soraya Gregory, was premiered in 2010 with OperaLancaster and is currently in development.
