CGA866 Somebody's Knocking SATB version
Description
This original spiritual challenges us with the words 'Why don't you answer the knock' Why don't you open the door' Jesus is waiting for you!' The syncopated melody and accompaniment add to our sense of excitement about the visor at the door. The woodblock mimics the sound of a door knocker, while the piano drives the piece with harmonies borrowed from jazz and gospel styles. This piece is available in editions for two part choir and SATB choir.
Voicing: SATB with piano and woodblock
Composer: James E. Clemens
