CGA876 The Lord Is My Strength Habakkuk's Prayer
Description
This piece is based on the prayer found in the third chapter of Habakkuk. The reassurance of this tender, yet powerful SATB anthem is that the Lord is our strength and the one who enables us to 'walk upon the highest places'. Conservative vocal ranges fit the needs of youth choirs while straight-forward part writing provides a rich, four-part choral experience. A memorable melody and a lowing piano accompaniment help propel this anthem forward, making it an elegant statement of faith for today's youth.
Voicing: SATB with piano
Composer: Mark Patterson
Text: Habakkuk 3:17-19
