Description
This setting of the familiar lenten spiritual is accessible for developing ringers. It begins with an optional two-measure introduction of dissonant chords symbolizing the crucifixion as Jesus is nailed to the cross. Then listeners are captivated by the haunting singing bell and malleted suspended bells. There are suggested modifications to accommodate varying levels of ringers. The two editions for 2-3 and 3-5 octaves are compatible for massed ringing.
