CGB1293 Dona Nobis Pacem - 3-5 octaves
Description
One of the most familiar rounds, Dona Nobis Pacem (Grant Us Peace) has been arranged by Karen Buckwalter for 3-5 octaves of handbells and optional handchimes. Although there is a discrepancy as to the original composer of this 3-part round (Palestrina, Mozart or ???), there is no argument that the three melodies intertwine into a beautiful, peaceful work.
As is often found in the vocal world, this arrangement presents the three separate melodies first and then ties them all together towards the end. The use of handchimes helps to highlight the different melodies but they are optional for presenting the composition.
Voicing: 3, 4 or 5 octaves handbells and optional 2 octaves handchimes
Composer: Traditional tune
Arranger: Karen L. Buckwalter
