CGB1364 Pendaneni (Love One Another) (2-3 octaves)

Description

Pendaneni is a Swahili word meaning “Love One Another,” which is given as a subtitle. This African-inspired original composition is happy and joyful, with easy to learn, repetitive rhythms, and many fun handbell techniques, like martellato, martellato lift, malleting, mallet rolls, thumb damp, and shaking. The optional added percussion makes this piece even more enjoyable, and the parts can be played on either African or Latin American instruments. This flexible and very accessible work can be played by both 2-3 or 3-5 octave groups, separately or together, and is perfect for worship, school, or concert.

Voicing: 2 or 3 octaves handbells with optional large djembe or congas, small djembe or bongos, gankokwe or cowbell, caxixi or maracas, and shekere or large shaker
