CGB370 The Bells Heard 'Round the World
Description
The change ringing pattern known as "The Plain Hunt" provides the opening for this entertaining piece, followed by a lilting original melody using optional handchimes. This melody is later intertwined with the English traditional "Oranges and Lemons Say the Bells of St. Clements," ending with a shortened round of "The Plain Hunt." Malleted sections, combined with martellatos and martellato-lifts, add to the spirited and upbeat nature of the work.
Voicing: 3, 4 or 5 octaves handbells with optional 3 octaves handchimes
Composer: Valerie W. Stephenson
Level: 3
