CGB618 Tremors (Full Score)
Description
Tremors was commissioned for the Bellissimo ensemble of Redlands Adventist Academy. The school's proximity to the San Andreas Fault was the inspiration for this composition, which features a “rumbling” chromatic ostinato and intense, energized polyphony. The piece ends calmly with a shimmering glimmer of peace. An ideal concert opener, churches with advanced bell choirs will also find it a great postlude for Advent or Lent. Instrumentation: 5, 6 or 7 octaves handbells, with optional 7th octave bass chimes, orchestral chimes, tam tam, and bass drum.
Composer: Michael J. Glasgow
Voicing: 5, 6 or 7 octave handbells
Level: 5
