CGB878 God of Amazing Grace
Description
Two hymns focusing on grace are interwoven in this arrangement; "God of Grace and God of Glory" and "Amazing Grace," dedicated to Grace First Presbyterian Church of Weatherford, TX. After a fanfare introduction, with LV's and shakes, the first section is a joyous and lively treatment of "CWM Rhondda" utilizing a malleted accompaniment. A gentle, flowing section follows, antiphonally incorporating both tunes over a moving LV bass line, and employing handchimes as an option. The final section is majestic and fully chordal, and closes with a brief return to the malleted accompaniment used earlier. This unique arrangement is suitable at most any time during the church year, for concert, or festivals.
Voicing: 3, 4 or 5 octaves handbells with optional 3 octaves handchimes
